How do I convert a PDF to EPUB without losing formatting?
WandPDF keeps what makes the text a book: chapters, headings, paragraphs, footnotes, lists, tables, pictures and their captions. What it drops on purpose is the printed page itself - running headers, page numbers and line breaks - so the EPUB reflows on any screen.
Will it look exactly like my PDF?
No, and that is the point. An ebook adapts to the screen, so the layout of the printed page is not kept. If you need the page to look the same, keep the PDF.
How do I read a PDF on my Kindle?
Convert it to Kindle (AZW3) and copy it to the device over USB, or convert it to EPUB and send it with Amazon's Send to Kindle. Either way you get text that follows your font size instead of a shrunken page.
Why convert a PDF to Markdown?
Markdown is plain text with headings, lists and tables marked up. It drops into notes apps like Obsidian, a wiki or a docs site, and it is a clean input for ChatGPT, Claude or a RAG pipeline.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Not yet. WandPDF reads the text layer of a PDF. A scan is a photo of a page with no text inside, and needs OCR first.
Which languages work?
English and other Latin-script languages, plus Chinese and Japanese. Arabic, Hebrew and other right-to-left scripts are still in progress.
What happens to my file?
It is kept only long enough to convert it and let you download the result, then deleted.
